Reproduction of wall text from the Nazi propaganda show Entartete Kunst (1937). The statement Sie hatten vier Jahre Zeit ("they had four years' time") echoed a quote by Adolf Hitler from 1933: “give me four years time and you will not recognize Germany”. The text was intended to mock the modernist works on display, and the artists who still had not adapted to the new policies of art after four years of Nazi rule.
